MMF24: Harem of No One

‘Harem of No One’ are a collective of queer and feminist performers of Turkish, Kurdish, Cypriot and Southwest-Asian heritages living in London. They take inspiration from harems of the past, where women and queer folk were ‘owned’ by a powerful male figure and were enslaved and abused; but at the same time there was a culture of solidarity and creation of art, beauty and eroticism.

They got rid of the toxic owner, liberated themselves, which made them The Harem of No One, and now they are only together because they desire to show their art, beauty and sexualities through performance, art, music and love; while creating a safe space for their communities.
