Rafiki Jazz develop ‘Trance-it’ in Yellow Arch Studios, new gigs added in our venue.. and new neighbours!
April 26th 2016
With a third CD album release coming up to mark a 10th year of recording and touring adventures, world music collective Rafiki Jazz gather together a compelling new soundtrack that draws on Pakistan & Senegal’s mystic Sufi traditions, ancient Middle Eastern Coptic liturgy, and the orishas of Brazil’s Candomble. Aka Trance in Transit, each performance is an invitation to visit a new global utopia where faiths, technologies and traditions meet.
Looking forward to more from these guys!
In the venue, we have some very interesting events coming up for you lovely people. Just announced have been King Capisce, We Are Not Men (Devo Tribute), DJ Barely Legal (Cheese on Bread presents) and our official Peddler after party with DJ Bake! That’s not even mentioning everything we have on this bank holiday weekend.. have a look for yourself!
We are so excited The Bhaji Shop is moving to our neigbourhood – amazing freshly prepared Indian food right around the corner on Ball St! Their opening drinks are this Thursday 28th April and they are open for business from Friday, so be sure to pop in for a visit!
Don’t forget we are currently running a fantastic deal on recording rates in our studio – give us a shout quick sharp if you are thinking of recording soon! We’ll sort you out 😉
