Introducing – Yellow Arch Sunday Club
Sunday – the day you relax, put your feet up and reflect on a week well spent. Well, we’ve decided you’ve probably done enough of that and haven’t had enough live music in your life. This is why we’ve created ‘Yellow Arch Sunday Club’ – like a church for those who worship the Gods & Goddesses of music & sound; a place you can check out up and coming talent in the Sheffield music scene and enjoy some well priced, tasty drinks in the process.
The layout is very simple, every week we’ll host a featured artist or band and leave our stage open for aspiring bands, musicians, comedians and poets to show us what they’ve got! You never know who’s going to step up… it could be the next Hendrix for all we know? We also have a house band and DJ up our sleeves to keep things ticking over nice and smooth.
With one of the best live stages in city, industry standard equipment and in-house fully trained sound engineers we have high hopes for presenting you some of the best acts you can dream of (for free)! Also, our lovely café bar will be open, serving a range of coffee, soft drinks and snacks (as well as the bar serving a divine selection of alcohol beverages, of course). Music & vibes will start at 1pm, through to 5pm – the perfect time to retreat home to your Sunday roast and slippers.
If you’re reading this and thinking… “I’m a musician, I’d like a go at this”, please get on board. We will provide a full backline for you, so just bring your instruments and get playing. We will be running a ‘first come, first serve’ rule, so arrive early to secure your place! We’re hoping to see plenty of original content and unique sounds (it’s not a karaoke remember). Proper music, for proper music heads!
For our first Sunday Club, we’re inviting Red Rum Club – an alternative rock sextet from Liverpool.
“A band fully in control of their sound and vision melding the Bunnies’ stinging angular riffs, rasping vocal snarls and that trumpet proved to be the winning ingredient adding an Americana twist to their Mersey rattle.” – Peter Guy, GetIntoThis.
Entry is free, with doors opening at 1pm. Join the Facebook event to find out more!
