Dusk til Dawn celebrate 4th birthday at Yellow Arch

As Dusk til Dawn celebrate another year of putting on some of Sheffield’s best raves, it’s only right we welcome them back to Yellow Arch for a proper birthday bash. In what is now a birthday tradition, the last weekend in January is all about saluting another year well played by DTD.

Having hosted their two previous birthdays, we’re ready for another top drawer night. As always with DTD, expect a fresh blend of genres and a diverse, vibrant crowd. This line up for their 4th birthday is arguably their best to date, hosting their first ever band, the legendary Dub Pistols and hooking up with Toil Soundsystem!

dub pistolsWe caught up with Dusk til Dawn head honcho, Phil Wrighton (Wheresnorth) to see what he had to say about it all…

For those who don’t know, what is Dusk til Dawn all about?

DTD is and always has been about diversity in good quality underground club nights. That involves different venues, different music policies, collaborating with other promoters and events and of course a good mix of different people. We believe this attracts a fantastic crowd every time and also means we can keep our musical bookings a little different and diverse and delve in and our of most dance genres that our crowd and ourselves enjoy.

What have been your favourite parties over the past four years?

Wow…tricky one… Easily one of the best was our Birthday last year at Yellow Arch. Partying and performing alongside headliner Phil Hartnoll from Orbital was surreal, was a sell out and he was the warmest and most fun booking we have ever come across. Our Hot Cakes parties have also always been big sell outs over the years and have involved stupidly big lineups.. The satisfaction of seeing a large event like that completed successfully with party goers afterwards saying ”that was my best night out this year” makes the stress and hard work well worth it.

Looking forward to 28th Jan?

Im massively looking forward to bringing DTD back to Yellow Arch.. a now Birthday tradition and also having our first ever headline band ‘Dub Pistols’ perform. Booking a band did not come easy but we felt it was  time for a shake up and the chance to use the venue to its full potential and do something that most other ‘rave’ or ‘underground’ events can’t always do, so we praise yellow arch for being able to provide the infrastructure for it to work. Also really looking forward to having the new warehouse room open with a Toil Soundsystem and DJs (The Beat Herder Festival) take over and finally inviting the one and only ‘Serial Killaz’ close down the main room!

We hope you’re as excited about this as we are! If you haven’t done so already, check out the Facebook event for updates and more info. We recommend grabbing your ticket for this as soon as possible. We expect this event to sell out.
